Post holiday season I have been heading down to the creek a fair bit and had some success last Thursday the 4th Feb. I was using smallish soft plastics in and around the bridge pylons and along the edges of the rockwalls . All was quiet until I got a cast in right amongst the oyster encrusted rocks and started an erratic retrieve with lots of flicks of the rod tip . A sudden bump and I thought I'd snagged up but another flick and the lure moved before the rod tip slammed over and I was connected to something weighty and not very happy !! An initial u-turn to try to get back to his rocky lair and the leader rubbing against the oysters and I thought I may lose him , but I turned his head and got him out into clear water . A few runs and headshakes later I had a lovely 52cm estuary cod on the bank . I fished for another half hour but with no luck . Anyhow one decent fish for a quick trip down the creek . He tasted lovely .
