Noosa Headland
Hi there
On Thursday fished on the main beach breakwater and in the river . The breakwater didn't look promising as the sand moving machines were really stirring up the sediment and making the water very discoloured . Saw no signs of the bait schools or mackerel, so fished lightly weighted cut pilchards and got into some nice Bream aroundabout 23/25 cm's.
Moved on to the river and fished the first couple of hours of the run out tide. Caught more Bream using the same tactics down the rockwall at the river mouth carpark.
Went out to the National Park on Friday and didn't see much action until I moved from Hells Gate round to the Fairy Pools where there were 4/5 schools of fish working the bait offshore, but way out of casting range. The bust ups continued for around an hour until 11.3o ish . put plenty of casts into the bait closer to shore but only managed one decent Tailor around 5ocms.
Also managed to lose my last Quaterback lure anyone know where you can get these?

Hi there,
Did the usual trek Thursday afternoon. Out on the breakwater saw a few feeding fish but they were few and far between , and way out of range . Seems to have really quietened down just at the moment. They are also shifting the sand around down on the main beach so maybe that's affected the fishing ?
Moved over into Woods Bay and was greeted by some nice surface action down by the Hastings Street end. Got off around 4/5 casts to the edges of the boil but didn't even register 1 hit let alone a hook up . The school went down when a guy drove his boat right into them and didn't resurface while I was around.
Picked up a few Moses Perch around the snags but was right on top of the tide with little or no run so fishing was pretty slow. Saw a nice little turtle feeding along the rockwall , he was getting right into the overhanging rocks and staying in there searching for food .

Hi there
Fished off the main beach breakwater and on to the river mouth using slugs and soft plastic shads . Nothing around at all ,no bust ups and no schools seen. Tried the soft plastic hopping along the bottom in the hope of a Flattie but no luck there either . Fished the high tide from around 3.30pm til 5 ish. This day only rated as a 40 in the almanac. South easterly wind to around 15 knots and a waxing gibbus. 26c

Hi there did the usual circuit on Monday, from around 9.30am on the main beach breakwater .
Very difficult casting into the strong headwind so only stayed for around 1\2 hour before heading into Woods Bay. Tide was rising but no activity on the surface , fished Gulp soft plastics for an hour or so without a hit then went to the Spit and fished the snags with free lined Whitebait. Got into some nice sized Bream around the 25/30cm range and landed 3 with 2 bust offs on the light 3kg leader. Quite a frustrating session with lots of lost jigs and hooks mainly to the snags .
Lots of people on the rockwall towards the mouth so gave most of it a miss but fished the car park section for 1/2 hour with 3 Bream to around 23/25 cm . Moved back to the main beach breakwater and was greeted by stiff winds but saw a few bust ups so stayed to make a few casts. Unfortunately the schools remained out of my range . I did see a big ray,[ I want to say Manta ? But not sure,] jump clean out the water about half way out to the shark nets. It was HUGE. There are also a few turtles cruising the breakwater.
So all up a few nice Bream but nothing else .
Cheers my dears

Hi there been awhile ,
Fishing picked up last week with the new moon . Went on the main beach breakwater on Wednesday and took a couple of decent Tailor on a 30g halco twisty casting behind the breakers just back from where all the sand and sediment that was churned up. Continued on to Woods Bay but nothing around so went up the Spit and fished the snags at the very end . Castings unweighted Whitebait right into the fallen timber resulted in 2 good Bream and 1 Flattie. Moved along the rest of the snags but no luck.
Friday headed to the breakwater again and on low tide with little swell and light wind, could see the mackerel feeding on the surface hooked 1 good sized around 90/100cm and played him into the foot of the breakwater but he was still a bit too green and managed to throw the hooks as a breaker crashed on to him . Bugger . Stayed on for about 2 hours and landed one around 60cms and brought him home to cook . When cleaned he had been eating masses of prawns . This ties in with the big schools I've noticed in the bay at the moment .
All the best
Cheers

Fished the middle breakwater on the main beach from 9ish and saw some mackerel on the surface but to far out to cast to . Stayed for an hour or so then went on to Woods Bay . Loads of Whiting around again and caught a couple of small flatties . Moved around the spit to the snags on the other side ,where I dropped a good flattie as I beached him . Got a couple of boarderline Bream and then the bite stopped . Headed along the rockwall but only pickers then back to the main beach rockwall where the wind had picked up too much too fish did see some more mackerel though

1st post
Hi there
Just trying this out for the 1st time to get a feel for it.
I am amazed this stuff is out there for free but maybe I'm just to far behind the times.
So today is another beautiful day in Noosa temp around 30c and blue skies wind around 10/15 knots . Fished the main beach groyne from around 8.30am til 9.15 with not a sign of any fish no surface activity nothing . Started off casting 30g twisters and when no luck ,tried gulps around the rocks but again no joy . Moved into Woods Bay and saw plenty of Whiting and small Bream in the shallows. Also saw Whiting swimming with Stingrays and feeding around the sediment disturbed by the rays. Anyhow still didn't catch a thing . Things can't get ant worse can they ? I will be trying some bait fishing down at Weyba Creek this evening so will let you know.
Cheers
Paul
